Garbage FAQs

What time should I have my trash out?

Your trash should be out by 5 a.m. Never assume that your driver will come at the same time every week. Unforeseen circumstances and variables can affect the schedule. Don’t try to time your trash man. However, if your trash has not been picked up by 5 p.m. in the evening, please give us a call.

What holidays do you observe?

We observe only 2 holidays: Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If your scheduled pickup falls on (or after) one of these days, your pickup will be delayed one day. When in doubt, put your can out!

Does trash have to be bagged?

It is not a requirement but highly recommended and appreciated. Bagged trash greatly reduces litter at the point of collection and during transportation.

What should I not put inside a trash can or dumpster?

Hazardous waste, dirt, construction debris, industrial waste, chemical products, herbicides & pesticides, radioactive material, solvents, paint, other flammable liquids, aerosol cans, propane tanks, refrigerant-containing appliances, all oils (cooking, motor, transmission, lubricating, hydraulic), oil filters, antifreeze, petroleum-contaminated soil, lead paint chips, tires, car batteries, rechargeable batteries, computers, monitors, televisions, microwaves, fluorescent light bulbs or tubes, railroad ties, medical waste, asbestos, barrels, and any liquids.

Can I put extra bags outside the trash can?

Generally, no. We will occasionally pick up 2 bags outside the can at no extra charge. If you find that one can is not consistently meeting your needs, we can provide an additional can for only $8 per month.

Is there a certain way my can should be placed at the curb?

Cans should be placed near the street with the handle away from the curb. Each can should be placed at least 3 feet from other objects such as mailboxes, vehicles, fences, or other cans.

What should I do if my trash didn’t get picked up?

If your trash was out the night before or by 5 a.m. and was not emptied, please call and we will attempt to resolve the problem. If you forgot to place your trash out in time for your scheduled pickup, you will need to hold it until the next week’s pickup. Our drivers have full schedules and cannot return. If you have an excess of trash the next week, we will get it at no additional charge.

Can I put out bagged leaves and yard waste?

Can we get an additional can?

Yes. Each additional can is $8 per month.

What are your payment options?

Can I give payment to my driver or leave on my can?
